The Skills Register is a unique database that matches people to jobs.

Clients who register with Jobnet are asked a variety of questions to build up a picture of their skills and attributes, qualifications, and training undertaken together with the type of employment sought; whether full or part-time, permanent or temporary. We also record the type of profession / job sought. This information is entered on to the database.

Employers who wish to place vacancies with us provide information about the type of vacancy; whether full or part-time, permanent or temporary contract. We will also take details of the skills and attributes sought by the employer, and any qualifications or training required to do the job. This information is entered on to another part of the database.

Once we have the client details on the database we can match their details against all the vacancies on our database. We can then refine the matching process, enabling us to search by skills and attributes, or by availability or type of contract, or simply just by professions.

The Jobnets have used the Skills Register since they first opened. Between January 1st 2005 and January 1st 2006 the Skills Register in conjunction with the expertise of our advisors has assisted 762 local Sheffield residents in finding suitable employment.
